Iota taught me the important lesson that your character and your community are things you constantly build and develop. You cannot claim to have character merely by who you are, but you acquire it over an entire lifetime through what you do. A community whose members don't constantly work to improve it will wither. In many ways what Iota has given me was unexpected and immeasurable. As a freshman in college how could I envision a lifetime of unconditional brotherhood, the pursuit of fraternal ideals which would be the foundation of my future personal and professional success, and to become part of a dynamic and evolving organization. Since graduating Iota has been has played a part in every phase and critical juncture in my life. The principles of Iota have provided focus, clarity, and resolve in meeting challenges and most all remembering what's most vital to my existence. Among these priorities, the opportunity to mentor and be mentored, and to serve with other men who strive make a difference, has been the greatest blessing.
